Its unique how GOOGLE celebrated its 23rd birthday.

On 27th September, Google celebrated its 23rd birthday with a crafty animated doodle of a cake numbered 23 on top to mark the achievement of 23 years since it was initially started.

Larry Page and Sergey Brin, two PhD students at Stanford University, started Google in their dorm rooms in September 1998. September of that year was a busy month for the two of them since, while Google's official founding date is September 27, 1998, but the firm was named and incorporated on September 7, 1998.

Larry and Sergey named Google after the origin word 'googol,' a mathematical phrase that translates to '10 increased to the power of 100.'

In the last two years, Google's parent company, Alphabet Inc, has been valued at $137 billion.

The purpose of “Google” when it was created was to “uniquely organize the world's knowledge and make it widely accessible and useful.”

Every day, billions of searches are done on Google including over 150 languages around the globe," Google commented in a blog post about the new Doodle. "From its first server, which had been housed in a cabinet fashioned out of toy blocks, to its servers today being housed in more than 20 data centers all over the world, its objective of making the world's information accessible to everyone

                         Happy 23rd Birthday, Google!
