Netflix's most popular TV-shows - Netflix's statistics October 2021

Netflix has recently Released New Data on Most Popular TV Shows and Movies.

Netflix's co-CEO and chief content officer, Ted Sarandos, unveiled what he called the "most complete look so far" at the streaming service's top 10 TV series and movies.

Sarandos presented two slides at the Beverly Hilton at Vox Media's Code Conference. One displayed the most popular Netflix shows based on a proprietary metric that tallies the number of accounts that choose a title within the first 28 days of its debut (and streamed for at least 2 minutes). A second charted overall watching time by hours over the course of the initial 28-day period

Netflix uses data to make certain business decisions, but Sarandos noted that “you want to be careful not to use it too much” when it comes to content development because “reverse-engineering a story” doesn't work well.

When asked about Netflix's decision to reach overall deals with creators such as Shonda Rhimes and Ryan Murphy, Sarandos claimed the firm needed to do so to compete with traditional entertainment organizations.

“‘Bridgerton' would have gone somewhere else if we hadn't done that agreement with Shonda,” Sarandos added. “Talent has to be appreciated and compensated competitively,” he added.
